Swimming for Babies

Swimming for babies (up to 2 years)

Water is the most natural environment for babies after birth. Swimming gives the baby the mobility and endurance they need. A newborn gets used to water much faster than a child that is several months old. Infants up to 6 months old whose heads are submerged in water will naturally hold their breath; later, they must be taught again.

Swimming has a calming effect on the baby, relaxes small muscles, and makes learning to swim easier. In the baby training, parents are taught the most basic techniques of how to teach their baby to move in the water. Together with the parent, under the guidance of the instructor, the baby learns to move in the water on its back/stomach, dive, float (stay on the water), jump into the water, etc.

In addition to teaching skills to babies for coping in water, the course also has a communicative aspect to it. Your baby might make their first friend here! The swimming lessons take place through play, taking into account the individual development stages and skills of the babies.

In order for all babies and their parents to be able to enjoy the lesson as much as possible, lessons for babies up to and including 9 months of age take place on Thursdays and lessons for babies from 10 months of age take place on Tuesdays.

Swimming for toddlers (2–4 years)

For toddlers’ swimming lessons, we welcome children aged 2–4 with their parents. The aim of the lesson is to increase the independence of the child in water and to teach them through playful activities to float, put their face underwater, exhale into the water, dive, climb out of the pool safely, and jump into the water. Children will learn about various swimming aids and the main principles of water safety. The role of the parent is to encourage the child by doing exercises with the child and to help them as much as necessary, but at the same time as little as possible. Children learn best through play and immediate experience, so coming to the lessons regularly ensures that your child will become independent in water.
